Reserve your spot at Nebraska by paying or deferring a $250 enrollment deposit in MyRED. Deposited students gain access to the Housing Application and Roommate Finder starting January 15, 2025, and New Student Enrollment orientation, academic advising and course enrollment processes starting May 2, 2025.
Maximize your scholarship consideration—starting October 1, 2024, admitted students can submit the supplemental Scholarship Application in MyRED to be considered for departmental, leadership and service scholarships. The deadline for fall 2025 admitted first-year students to submit the supplemental Scholarship Application is February 1, 2025.
Applying for financial aid by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Form is the best way to help pay for college. The 2025-26 FAFSA Form opens by December 31, 2024. Financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
The priority deadline to file the FAFSA Form is May 1, 2025. If an admitted student applied for admission by November 1, 2024, and files the FAFSA Form by February 1, 2025, the student will be reviewed for a comprehensive scholarship and financial aid offer on February 12, 2025.

Starting January 15, 2025, students who have paid or deferred their enrollment deposit will gain access to the Housing Application and Roommate Finder in MyRED. For those who pay or defer the enrollment deposit on or after this date, access is granted within 24 hours after payment or deferral.
New Student Enrollment (NSE) is a required orientation, academic advising and course enrollment process that prepares you for your transition to college. NSE processes become available to deposited students May 2, 2025.

Request your official English proficiency scores to be directly and electronically sent to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
After you are admitted, you will receive instructions via email about obtaining your I-20 form to complete your student visa application.
Reserve your spot at Nebraska by paying a USD $250 enrollment deposit in MyRED. Afterward, you'll gain access to the Housing Contract and Roommate Finder and receive New Student Enrollment information regarding Orientation, academic advising and course enrollment.

New Student Enrollment is a required Online Orientation, academic advising and course enrollment process that prepares you for your transition to Nebraska. Once you've submitted the enrollment deposit, you'll receive information about Online Orientation registration, academic advising and course enrollment.
All students must complete health requirements prior to enrollment.
Welcome to Nebraska! Once you arrive in Lincoln, you will attend In-Person International Orientation, where new international students will get to know each other and connect with the campus community.
If you are attending a U.S.-based educational institution (high school, community college, or college/university), ask your Designated School Official (DSO) or international advisor to transfer your Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) records to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln to obtain a new Form I-20 and maintain your F-1 US Student Visa Status.
